The story
Jianji Road is Chaozhou's oldest commercial street, a key Japanese-era trading hub that villagers from Wanluan and beyond passed through, later known for furniture makers. Shophouses keep the long shop-in-front, warehouse-behind layout, and a century-old red-brick alley so narrow it was named 'Breast-Touching Alley' in 2010. Residents now run events like the Spring Tide market to revive it.
