The story

Ligang, once A-li-kang, was a Qing-era river port and market on the Lower Danshui River in northern Pingtung. Shuangci Temple, the local Mazu centre, holds several Qing stone steles recording its history and old decrees. The temple front and street end are packed with wonton shops, many run by related families, making Ligang wontons famous nationwide.
