The story
Tongmen, on the Mugua River at the foot of the Central Range, is one of the few Indigenous villages in Taiwan with an established blade-forging tradition. Its smithies hand-forge mountain knives shaped by Truku know-how, some run by the same family for generations. The 'old street' is really a village road with a handful of forges rather than a row of historic shophouses.
