The story
Guoxing's old street was the township's first shopping street, but after the 1999 earthquake most businesses moved to Zhongxing Road and it declined. The township has tried to revive it around Hakka food and coffee: Guoxing now grows more coffee than anywhere else in Taiwan and was the first area to earn a coffee origin certification.
