The story

Hengchun, once Langqiao, got its county and walls after the 1874 Mudan incident at the request of Shen Baozhen; its walls are among Taiwan's best-preserved Qing fortifications. The old street lies around Zhongshan Road inside the walls, and the 2008 film 'Cape No. 7' was shot here, with 'Aga's house' drawing fans. Today it serves snacks, local onions and visitors heading to Kenting.
