Jiadong, the Left Camp of the Liudui Hakka, keeps an unusually complete set of Hakka buildings. The Xiao family mansion has a rare five-hall layout, and its gate tower Buyue Lou was where Xiao Guangming led militia against Japanese troops in 1895. The Zhang family shop is the town's only two-storey red-brick shophouse, and the Yang ancestral hall is known for its yin-yang pond.
