The story
Jiaxian sits on the Nanzixian River at the western entrance to the Southern Cross-Island Highway and grew with the camphor industry in the Japanese era. It is famous for taro, and Wenhua Road is lined with taro-ice shops selling ice and taro pastries. There are few old buildings; it is a food and souvenir stop on the way to the mountains.
