The story

In the Japanese era this area (Gijū-chō) was lined with merchants, kimono shops and inns, earning it the nickname 'Keelung Ginza'. The neo-Victorian building at Yi'er and Xin'er Roads once housed the Kishida kimono shop and hotel, later the famous Little Shanghai restaurant. Only scattered old facades remain, but the new Keelung Tower now links the street to Zhongzheng Park by lift and skywalk.
