Kyōmachi was a district inside the old Taipei walls; Boai Road was its main 'Kyōmachi-dōri', a prime shopping street next to Sakaechō, with the Kikumoto department store on the corner. After the war Boai Road filled with camera shops and became known to photographers as 'Camera Street'. Only scattered arcades and facades remain.
