The story
Xiaoliuqiu's old street lies along Sanmin and Zhongshan roads near Baisha harbour, the island's busiest shopping strip. Islanders lived by fishing, and the twisted dough snack fishermen took to sea keeps well, so it became the island's signature souvenir. Buildings are mostly post-war; it is all about snacks and gifts.
