The story

Longtan, once called Lingtan ('water-chestnut pond'), grew around Longyuan Temple, founded in 1825, and its market. Road widening in 1981 removed most old buildings. A former food alley next to the temple has been revamped as the Lingtan Street creative hub, and the 'welcome the God of Wealth' folk parade is a local festival highlight.
