Sankengzi is Longtan's oldest Hakka settlement; in the Qing era boats on the Dahan River loaded goods here, earning it the title 'Longtan's first street'. The street fans out from Yongfu Temple to the Heibaixi communal laundry pools, still used by villagers today. River trade ended with the Shimen Reservoir, but cycling paths and Hakka snacks now draw weekend visitors.
