The story
Xiling Street sits next to the Zuoying naval base, and after the war it developed a trade serving sailors and military families, earning nicknames like Shanghai Street, Suit Street and Military-Goods Street. Tailors who came from Shanghai made uniforms and suits for officers, and some military-supply shops and tailors remain.
