During Kinmen's front-line years, Yangzhai's street served soldiers on leave with billiard halls, ice shops, photo studios and the Jindong Cinema. After the troops left the shops closed one by one, leaving the street almost untouched, and it served as a set for the 2014 film Paradise in Service. Expect retro signboards and empty storefronts rather than open shops.
