Yingge's clay and coal supplies fostered pottery from the Qing era, and Jianshanpu Road was once crowded with kilns and chimneys. As the industry modernised, the street became a tourist strip of ceramic shops and pottery-wheel workshops selling everything from rice bowls to art pieces. Old kiln chimneys and the Yingge Ceramics Museum tell the industry's story.
