The story
Fengshan became the county seat (then called Pitou Street) in the early 19th century, and the Sanmin Road area, once known as Caodianzai, was among its earliest trading lanes. The nearby First Public Market, popular with military families, is nicknamed the 'soldiers' market'. Most old buildings have been rebuilt; it is best combined with nearby temples on a walking tour.
