The story
Guandu ('Kantau') sits at the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung rivers, the old gateway into the Taipei basin. Guandu Temple, said to date to the late 17th century, is among northern Taiwan's oldest Mazu temples; the lane in front has snack stalls and incense shops. Few old buildings remain, but it pairs well with Guandu Nature Park and the riverside bike path.
