The story

Chongjian Street is regarded as one of Tamsui's earliest commercial streets, climbing the hill from Fuyou Temple and once home to gentry and merchant houses. A 2010s road-widening plan sparked a preservation fight and some houses were lost, but its winding stone steps and old homes remain, a calm contrast to busy Zhongzheng Road.
