Guanyin district is named after a natural stone resembling the bodhisattva Guanyin, enshrined in Ganquan Temple (founded around 1860 as Fulong Temple), whose spring was said to cure illness; a market street grew in front of it. Renai Road was widened in 2015 and few old buildings remain, so today it is simply a local shopping area around the temple.
