Pinglin is the heartland of Wenshan Pouchong tea. Its roughly 200 m old street is lined with tea shops and restaurants cooking with tea leaves. Once a rest stop on the road to Yilan, it keeps a small-town feel, and the nearby Pinglin Tea Museum is Taiwan's only museum dedicated to tea culture.
