The story

Sanzhi, once 'Little Keelung', has its traditional market streets on Zhongzheng Road and Gongzheng Street, centred on Fucheng Temple's golden-faced Mazu. The street itself is small; most visitors come for coastal cafés, fruit farms and artists' studios nearby. The October water-bamboo festival and early-spring cherry blossoms are good times to visit.
