Shigang is a small Hakka town on the former Dongshi railway line, now the Dongfeng bike path. Its old shophouses were badly damaged in the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake and most have been rebuilt, so the street is mainly local life today, best as a pause on the bike trail together with the Tuniu Hakka Cultural Hall.
