The story

Xishuikeng lies where the Xishui and Wenshui streams meet, a mixed Hakka and Atayal area on the road to Tai'an hot springs. It is famous for handmade tofu said to owe its taste to the sweet local water, and a small T-shaped stone-paved lane is lined with tofu shops and old Hakka houses. It is more food stop than historic street, and busy on weekends.
